Energy Work

Qigong

Traditional Chinese Medicine is comprised of three branches: Accupuncture, herbal medicine and Qigong. Qi is known as the vital life force and Qigong are exercises that cultivate and work with the vital life force to strengthen ones body and mind for a longer and healthier life. Medicinal Qigong is practiced by expert practitioners that manipulate the Qi to aid the recipient in combating disease and the restoration of their life force and health.

Qigong is divided into active (yang), active/passive (yang/yin), and passive (yin) styles. The Yin stream aims mainly at calming the mind and expanding inner awareness. Martial Arts and Medicinal Qigong belong to the Yang stream and are meant to combat diseases and make the practitioner exceedingly healthy by storing vital energy in the lower abdomen.

Reiki

Reiki is one of the Buddhist offspring's of Qigong with added Shintoism influence. It was rediscovered by Mr. Mikao Usui towards the end of the 19th century and it was he who renamed it Reiki. Usually Reiki is translated as "universal life energy." There are 3 or 4 degrees of Reiki depending on the school. With each degree the teacher initiates the student by attuning their chakras to this universal life energy and pass along symbols that are used to aid in the healing of ones self and the healing of others. Reiki practitioners are a channel for Reiki energy to flow through and help both the practitioner and the recipient to re-balance their mind, body, and spirit, combat ailments, and restore health.
